Why I live:
Last night I gave up my Shippensburg Dream. It felt bad at first, but I realized I was doing what was right for my pocketbook. I'm a little sad I won't get that independence and freedom, that I won't be close to Caitlin, that I'll miss out on my cousins growing up before my eyes- but this is really the smarter of the two decisions.
So I sent in my application to Metro. I think I did it wrong, so I'm going to call them next week and see what I can do. I'm applying as a Social Work major, I'm going to work my ass off this semester to get all my prerequisitory courses done, take 12 credits summer semester, volunteer at the girls center this semester, volunteer at a women's shelter this summer, try to find a job, and basically fight fight fight. I'm begging to be a double-focus on Child Social Work and Women's Social Work since it's my dream to work with girls, and I'm going to really really really push to be a gender and sexuality specialist.
If they won't let me in this fall, which is a possibility, I'm going to take a year off and try and do some work for VISTA with Womens Shelters.
I'm in this to help people. I live to serve others. This is my dream. I'm a strong, motivated, powerful young lady. I'm in love. I can do this, I have the world at my wings. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.
